Stampede With Jen

on
July 15, 2004

Well, things started looking up for me a bit after Monday. On Tuesday I went to the Grand Stand show with Jen with the tickets Angela gave me (so awesome)! Wow, it was so fantastic! And the chuckwagon races were fun too because Jen and I bet five-cent candies on each race. She won a lot… but it was still good! Before the show started we went and played some of the midway games, and Jen won this puny, ugly little… I can’t remember… dinosaur? And I won a stuffed pig. So right when I won the pig Jen said, “Aww yours is cute… mine’s so ugly!” and the lady working the game was like, “yeah, it is ugly,” takes it from Jen, pitches it to the ground and gives her a cute little stuffed puppy! It was awesome! After the fireworks we decided to play more games, so Jen went to the ‘guess your weight’ booth and the guy guessed too high so she won another prize. So fun!

Then on Wednesday I went with Jen (again) to the church to set up cots for inn from the cold. Unfortunately we got there too late and everything was set up already. So we went on a Jentopia mission to find tape to re-stick the Lord of the Rings poster that kept falling down. Mission accomplished! After that we played crazy eights with her great WWF cards.

Tonight I met up with Kim to work on our top-secret music video project, and then when we were wrapping up it started hailing really hard, so we played the singing game for awhile.

I’m so, so, so happy it’s Friday tomorrow.

One bad thing that happened this week was that Dave from church passed away. He’d been fighting cancer for a couple of months but still, it was hard to hear. The funeral was this morning but I didn’t go because I don’t know if I could have gotten out of work since I already left early once this week. But I would have cried the whole entire time anyways, considering I almost cried just from reading the program that my parents brought home. I feel so bad for the family, the kids are pretty young. He won’t get to see them graduate or get married or start families. This type of thing depresses me to no extent if I think about it long enough, so…
