Grade 12

Greatest Day

on
May 7, 2004

Today was probably the greatest day so far this month. Then again, any day that I skip multimedia class is a great day. But it was great for other reasons, too.

First of all, period one math was declared a work period, so naturally everyone just talked to their friends under the pretense of solving permutations. Upon being reminded that it was the rumored free frappuccino day at Starbucks, Selby and I planned to go there at the break. I’d talked to Steph in bio about going with her, so I thought it was only right that I look for her and ask if she wanted to come. Normally that wouldn’t be important, but it is how my fantastic day started!

When the bell rang after math, I thought I’d look for Steph in the library since she has a half spare in 3/4. Unfortunately she was not there but Katie and Jen and Aman and Scott were. We decided to go to the food court at the mall, so Jen needed to go to her locker. Risky, since the route to this destination was past the classroom of the class I was currently supposed to be in—multimedia. Forseeing such a hazard as my teacher spotting me and dragging me inside (or something so tragic), Katie and Jen formed a human wall which I was to hide behind (spy-like) as we passed the room. The plan worked perfectly until we met my teacher head on in the hallway not two seconds later, him having just appeared out of nowhere. We even made eye-contact but I just kept walking! It was so funny, Katie and Jen and I were laughing way too hard!

In Jen’s car on the way to the mall, Katie wrote a ‘ticket’ to place on Selby’s windshield when we got back. (Dear serf and/or slave, you are a stupid fathead and for this you must pay twenty dollars to queen Jen or her captain, Spanky. You must do this at 11:11 tomorrow or swift decapitation will ensue!) It was awesome! Thanks to Jen’s crazy driving skills, we arrived at the mall about five minutes before Aman and Scott so, as I waited akin to a decoy in the entrance, Katie and Jen hid behind some artificial shrubbery and pelted them with paper and gum packaged when they walked by. Haha! After the mall we went back to school and hung out in the ‘cool people’s’ corner in the foyer.

I met Selby at her locker when the break bell went, and then we went to Starbucks with Katie and Jess. The lineup was pretty long but it was worth it! We were pretty late getting back though, so they missed a bit of the art history video on Michelangelo. That guy was freaking amazing… holy…

Usually I would have had biology after that, but Mr. Martin told us yesterday that he was going to be supervising an advanced placement test today, so we should all come to class anyway and work quietly on our small amount of bio homework. That’s cool teacher code for: don’t come. So we didn’t! Instead we (Katie and Steph) hung out in the library and then returned to the cool people place in the foyer because we’re cool people.

(Took the bus home, had bacon for lunch, went out and got Kristen’s bridal shower gift, went to co-op, home, wrapped presents and got ready for shower, had dinner, and…)

Then I went to Kristen’s bridal shower, number two! This one was so cool because lots of people came and my job as a bridesmaid was to take pictures (awesome, hey?) and hand presents to Jenna so she could hand them to Kristen. The shower was a big success!
